Understanding Class 11

Well friends, it has now been about 2.5 or 3 months approximately in class 11 Science and I  think that now I am capable of explaining the gap and the change in ideologies in Class 11 of various students (technically they are all my friends). So here it goes...

In India a general amount of students want to become a doctor or an engineer ( very general scenario), but I realized the seriousness of this situation only in this year. I felt that I realized this so suddenly that now my friends who used to talk so silly and unreasonable until last year (till grade 10) are now talking about cracking entrance exams and only entrance exams most of the time! :) I know that it is a great change and a change for better but Class 11 really changes people in the most astonishing way possible. There are many who are so sure that their friends will not crack the entrances that they are betting their parent's shops and some are willing to be their servant for their entire life! Well I guess they are saying it only to mock their friends but it sounds really funny when they say it with their formal expressions. Most of my batch mates have opted for this stream by choice but also they can be seen complaining about the stress they have to experience and the amount of work they have to do as a "Science student", its rather ironical, but its the truth. 

As a matter of fact, when the classes first started nearly everyone was talking only about science, I mean literally only science! But we started to see the true colors when the time passed by. The gap between Class 10 and Class 11 is great one and it generally affects the students for about a time period of 336 hours, yes it really does! During this time period a general student is affected by many problems such as rising blood pressure, social awkwardness, paranoia, lack of time and exercise, and hallucinations! (A little exaggeration:) ). But since we had opted for science due to our choice we had handled this scenario for the period of 336 hours. We sometimes feel that we have a short time to do a lot of things, but its our choice so we manage it well ( Most of us!). Students become very busy sometimes or most of the times depending on the habit of the students, and they mainly discuss their aspirations with friends and describe how they are going to achieve it, and they  also discourage their friends that they are not going to achieve it no matter how hard they are going to try!

In Class 11 we tend to become doubtful of many concepts , and so we ask a lot of questions periodically(or regularly)to our teachers; we can however ask as many questions as much as we want in our school, all the teachers are well aware of this transition so they are very supportive and always lend us a helping hand for any kind of doubts. 

Class 11 is about consistency, consistency in studying even for a few hours but most importantly it is studying every day. If you do not study even for a day or are even absent in any of the classes then it is not a minute task to cope up with that. Its not about the amount of things taught, rather its about the intensity of understanding required for any concept that makes it rather time consuming to understand. Class 11 means studying mostly new concepts that we never have had heard about in our lives before, even though this makes the process of learning time consuming but this is what excites us, new things always excite us after all. In Class 11 students differ in their notions about study, some of them have a really repetitive habit of mentioning the amount of work they do without being asked, while some say that they passed by studying only one night before the test in order to show how much of a prodigy they possibly are at times! 

Thus, Class 11 marks the beginning of a new and somewhat different life altogether; it is the result of the first mature decision taken with consideration by a young student in India and this decision can be fruitful for those who are willing to give most of their time and can even prove to be hazardous for those who do the opposite, students always choose their stream visualizing their future selves, choosing a stream is a landmark in one's life, no matter what is going to happen you should always respect your brain's decision (not from the bottom of the heart but from the bottom your cerebrum) and abide by it, and appreciate it to see wonders happening in your life by you yourself.
