Eleven Twelve

So lets get to the point. Today I'm gonna mention you the generality of being in class 12(science). Class 12 was something that I always aspired to be in, you know when I was in 6th grade the students of class 12 seemed like the divine ones, the smart ones, ones who would be writing complex notations on papers, they had things written down even in their hands too, I felt like class 12 was the place to be in !!! I was deadly scared of math at that time, I learnt division only when I came in 6th grade, math was not my friend at that period of time and I had decided that if I would get admission to class 11 then I would not take math in any way. Seems funny today but math is my second favorite subject after physics, the transition has been a great one but definitely a good one as well. 12th grade is awesome!!! It's a magical place, yes confusion is frequent here, so it's magical !

Let me share with you the generality of being in class 12 in my school, you may have heard it's name you know, you actually can hear it every year during the months of May-June (sometimes before), yes if you've guessed it right, its Holy Cross School, Tadong and I'm a proud crossite spending my 7th year in this institution. Well I've already mentioned in my post last year about being in class 11 initially, and this year it's the turn of class 12 be described ! Class 12 to be absolutely reckoning honest is not that dramatic as class 11 was initially !!! I seriously do mean it, class 12 depends upon your compatibility with your subjects, and your compatibility with your subjects depend on your past relations with your subjects in class 11, now let me tell you if you've treated your subjects badly in the previous grade then they surely will treat you worst this year !



Now 11 graders will initially not be able to comprehend the things that were so not cool at all; pronunciation of "orbitals" was really mysterious, it was pronounced as " or-bi-tals"  as "bi" in a bisexual and not as "b" in "beta". And the number of times "simple whole number ratio" or "simple whole number 'multiple' ratio" came up in physical chemistry sounded peculiar, or understanding the ratio problem of M3O4 was not simple initially ! When Prabin Sir asked someone, " What is a limiting reagent?", and my dear classmates would say," Sir limiting reagent is a reagent which limits the reaction!!" to which Sir would give a strange look to that student; actual answer(The limiting reagent in a chemical reaction is the substance that is totally consumed when the chemical reaction is complete. The amount of product formed is limited by this reagent, since the reaction cannot continue without it.)
 Molarity and molality were fine but then came NORMALITY; terms inside the terms !!!  In physics we were not so used to derivations in class 11, and the derivation of equation of trajectory of a projectile or it's maximum h displacement were truly divine to understand but took time to reproduce in paper. As per my bio friends, they were seen drawing diagrams of animals and their interior systems most of the times; they even drew ghosts, skulls etc !!!( they said that they even opened a cockroach's gut chiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!) , I must say the storage capacity of bio students due to the terms and definitions may have been extended to 3gb with 1gb extra for diagrams, so I respect all bio students big or small because they have 4gb already occupied, I wonder what they take to memorize these !!!

01010100000100 Boolean algebra was nice right then came C++ , which had blissful programs initially, then I believe came logic related programs, prime number huh!! palindrome!!! Being in 12 now they look simple but last year tell me if any one of the computer students weren't bothered for a week due to these. If you survive the first month (+1 for some) in class 11 then you're ready to tackle anything in your life( don't take it seriously !!!) . But 11th grade was something that taught each and every one of us a lesson, that you're not a genius if you stop working hard !!

Now lets come to class 12, class 12 is bliss if you're consistent with your studies.

It'll take some days to reconfigure your relation with organic chemistry but as soon as you will get the grip of it (which you will if you practice) then your life will be joyful again, like butterflies and rainbows you know. Then something known as "mechanisms" will haunt you in every chemistry class, mechanisms will not happen mechanically mind you, if it did they would be extremely simple, however things that you didn't expect to happen happens(this will piss you off initially), and the hostile and friendly molecule or the atom who was minding it's own business gets attacked and is separated from its family molecule to make a relation(bond). I never thought a divine element like oxygen which gives all of us life could be so negative that it kicks out it's wife (hydrogen) and marries carbon for stability !!!!

 But studies aren't the only things that a student must manage in class 12, sometimes things that you expected never to do have to be done, sometimes you become the person you never imagined you would be ! Sometimes you're dealing with anxiety and emotions and your practicals all in a bonus, if studies were the only you had to handle in 12 grade(/11 grade for some) then all of us would be toppers, all of us, yes, if studies was the only thing, there are many things that will come your way in this phase, you have to be a good manager to take all these together for a balanced perception and improved definition in your life, this phase of your life. Hope you all will manage it well, not only the science students in HCS but all those who've had this experience in general.
