Corona And Us

We’ve stumbled upon something that mankind hadn’t for decades, something that wasn’t anticipated at all, something we did not see coming! It’s not uncommon to see a plague sabotaging human lives in the past (reminds us of the time when Newton was in college and the epidemic forced him to retreat to his home where he actually produced theories that revolutionized the way we understand the world), looking back, we’ve read about the epidemic rather normally (knowing that we now have the antibiotics tested and approved)in our history classes, but now when it’s our time to face it ourselves, we truly understand what it must have been to those people living in that century, when in fact the medical studies weren’t so adequate and sophisticated as we have it today. 

COVID-19 is something etched onto us, something that we as this generation can’t narrow down, something we’re never going to underestimate(even after the cure would be developed), what began as a ‘news’ has completely manipulated the social scenario at present, and global panic has swept over with the leaders and the governments unsure about the next move. Positive matches are plummeting every second with Italy crossing the death toll of 10,000! As of now there are 49 new cases registered in the capital New Delhi with two deaths and over 28 positive matches in Maharashtra, the consequences to human resources have proved disastrous, offering the economy a heavy setback of the century accounting to the "lockdown" in the afflicted (non-afflicted as well) countries globally, owing to this surge and the vulnerability of the systems, majority of nations are under a state of confusion and chaos.

As far as the responsibility is concerned, we simply can’t pin down this biological crisis to a single group of individuals or even a single nation, it’s something we all should be accountable for, today is simply not the best time to play the blame game, a biological catastrophe like this simply couldn’t have been under the control of “switches” that many are under the illusion of to be triggered by some conspirators, a biological warfare to be precise is what most of the educated ones jump to, well it’s not the first time that misinterpretations are happening is it? Viruses can’t be trusted, the doubt of specifically commanding (or programming we don’t know when our imagination gets too high!) them to surmount a big attack on mankind should be eliminated for good, these conspiracy theories suit the movie scripts better and are hence far from practicality, they would rather divide societies or countries, but not in any way would it explain the reason why it came at this moment today, nor would it throw some light on the solution as in cure to this epidemic. The sensible approach in this hour is to keep calm, and to let others stay the same, we’re all dealing with an uncertain element and so it will be reasonably natural to freak out, until the antidote is developed we truly are helpless and susceptible; prevention being the best our efforts are limited to with optimism as a simultaneous companion, let us stay aware, and let's stay at home, let’s hope for the best real soon and avoid over-thinking and panicking, we’ll have seen history passing before our eyes when this ends, you and me, all a part of this, a part of this blot in 2020, a part of us.
